For nearly
a decade, Shoreline Foods has proudly served the town of Branford
and surrounding communities. Shoreline Foods is known for its
array of specialty meats and poultry, extensive deli counter,
and reliable catering services. Voted Best Deli for two consecutive
years (1997 and 1998) by the New Haven Advocate's readers poll,
it is apparent that Shoreline Foods has established a reputation
for serving quality food products to satisfy every customer's
taste. In addition to being honored as Best Deli in the greater
New Haven area, Shoreline Foods was also voted Best Caterer
in 2003, 2002, 2001 and 1998, second-best caterer in 1997 and
second-best take out food in 1998.

Much
of Shoreline Foods' success may be attributed to its strong
community ties, as well as the wide variety of goods and services
offered to meet the needs of every customer.
Some of
the items featured in the Shoreline foods deli include hot and
cold subs, freshly prepared salads, homemade stuffed breads,
and baked goods, such as pies, brownies, and cookies. Every
weekday several item are featured as specials which often appeal
to frequent lunch-time customers.

The store also offers a wide selection of prepared entrees for
two, soft drinks, groceries, as well as some specialty foods.
In the area of catering, Shoreline Foods provides a broad spectrum
of services, ranging from take-out platters and family barbecues
to elegant weddings and events. Several different catering menus
are available, offering an assortment of prices and types of
food. Whether a cold cut platter or seated dinner for several
hundred people, Shoreline Foods is sure to deliver quality products
which may be enjoyed by all.
Owners
Joe Brandi, Jr. and Tom Mesner merged their culinary skills
in 1990 to found the Shoreline Foods. Joe and Tom each brought
unique experiences to Shoreline, which helped to build a versatile
business. Joe had been preparing meat in his family's store,
Brandi's Meat Market of Hamden (formerly Milano's Meat Market)
since 1978. Tom is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America
(1973), and later received his bachelors degree in restaurant
administration from the University of New Haven. His past places
of employment include The Inglewood Country Club in Kenmore,
Washington, and the New Haven Country Club and Arnolds Sanford
Barn, both in Hamden. Tom and Joe met at Brandi's Meat Market,
where both were employed during the 80's.
In
addition to private catering, Shoreline Foods has also operated
concession stands at many local events and sport tournaments,
including the Branford Festival, The Pilot
Pen International Tennis Tournament, The Ericsson Open (formerly
the Lipton), The Buick
Classic, The Hamlet
Cup in Long Island, and the Legg
Mason Tennis Tournament in Washington D.C.

service, And high-quality meats and foods. Over the past nine
years, Shoreline Foods has acquired a reputation for reliable
service and delectable food items.
